Excellent for living, renting out, doing yoga, and in general - unwinding from the world. The lower level is a self contained rental apartment with a kitchenette. A couple who lives upstairs can rent out the lower level. There is an open air platform with bathroom that has mostly been used for yoga and camping, but its possibilities are only limited by one's creativity. The area is a loose community around a natural preserve that is full of wildlife, waterfalls and hiking trails.
The house is situated on the front ridge of the southern zone's coastal mountain range. The ridge drops down into a basin that is in preserve. In fact, the area is called "The Rainforest Preserve". The house's view platform and wrap-around terrace look over the canopy of the preserve, as does the yoga deck. Wildlife abounds.
There are several homes on the rim of the basin but each one exudes privacy. The community has access to a view platform where you are looking down on Dominical beach. One almost feels like they can dive into the ocean. Sunset views from this platform are spectacular. There is also a natural community waterfall and pool that is accessible by foot.
Each bedroom has A/C and there is wifi Internet and excellent cell phone reception. The property is populated with mature fruit trees and gorgeous tropical flowers.
As a rental business, this house has generated mostly 5 star reviews on HomeAway. Here is a sampling of some of the comments:
~ The location is great because you're tucked away in the jungle, which gives you a great sense of privacy. At the same time, you're minutes away from the beach, as well as the town, so you don't have to go out of your way to get anywhere.
~ We saw so many colorful birds and butterflies outside in the front yard which was awesome. We even saw a sloth down the road on one of our walks to a nearby waterfall.
~ We came to Costa Rica for adventure, and we found it! We wanted to stay away from resorts and tourists, but still be close to a lot of the activities we wanted to do, e.g., surfing, hiking, ziplining, cliff-jumping. From the toucans in the 'toucan tree' just off the deck to the hiking trail into the jungle to the howler monkeys' bone-chilling cries to the surf at Dominical and Dominicalito, we had it all... We would absolutely stay here again!
